Winter Vegetable Garden Tips
We live in the southern United States and have moderate temperatures during the winter. We are planning to grow a bunch of vegetables this winter that do well in cool or cold weather.
Cold weather vegetables that can handle temperatures as low as 26 to 31 degrees include broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, chard, lettuce, mustard, onion, radish, and turnip.
Cold weather vegetables that can withstand even lower temperatures include carrots, brussels spouts, collards, kale, parsley and spinach.
If you live in an area that has moderate temperatures, why not raise some vegetables this winter to help save money while giving your family some fresh, organic produce.
At the same time, keep in mind that you will be more successful if you rotate your crops. Here’s an interesting article that deals with how to rotate your vegetable crops: Vegetable rotations
